Redefining Intolerance - Hypocrisy - Religion and Otherwise

Under the category of "Do as I say and not as I do"....

For years, Democrats have decried intolerance and have prided themselves on their open-mindedness, love, peace, and expanded "big tent." And, they have even passed laws prohibiting hate speech. .

Yet, they have exhibited rather extraordinary levels of intolerance towards Christians and differing views, oft in hateful speech. (see HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE)

I suppose such rank hypocrisy exists because, beyond a remarkable lack of self-insight, to the leftist mind, intolerance is only what others do. Indeed, through their tendency to redefine words--for lack of persuasive arguments (see HERE and HERE), intolerance has come to mean that which disagrees with liberalism. (see HERE and HERE and HERE)

What the Left doesn't understand is that not always is intolerance a bad thing. (see HERE and HERE) Nor, paradoxically, is it avoidable. (see HERE and HERE)
