There are a number of Left-leaning comedians, not h least of which are Jon Stewart and Bill Maher, who have grown immensely popular and wealthy poking fun at Conservatives and Republicans.
And, while the antics of these liberal comedians tends to be reminiscent of junior high and high school, presumably because that is the developmental level of their target audiences, we Conservatives should take it all in good fun and be able to, in a healthy way, laugh at ourselves and not take ourselves too seriously.
However, my concern is that the youthful audiences, and some adults and certain comedians, themselves, are mistaking the humorous shticks for rational analysis as well as elevated and authoritative political insight or even news. Whereas, instead, the jokes and routines are perpetual object lesson in logical fallacies and a black hole for critical thinking and mature and pragmatic thought.
Juvenile ridicule and sarcasm are apparently effective persuasive devises among rationally-challenged viewers, but they aren't valid substitutes for evolved and beneficial argumentation--not the youth are in a position o see it that way.
It doesn't mean that they aren't reasonably spot-on at times;
